Hippier Than Ever- Fashion Profile Video by Gadutism

Hey again you...

I promised myself to publish this last night, but I had to broke it due to some company invitation event thing I had to attend at French embassy here on my city.

First off, I'm dyingly in love with my little project here in this post, where about a week ago on a nice bright Sunday morning I met this lovely fellas, Angga Gadut and his friend slash assistant, Adrian, who actually a super extra major BIG time talented video/cinematographer! You guys can check out his works here > GADUTISM.COM

Well, life as you (might) know as a blogger, first up you made friends online, then when you have the chance (and fate ;p), you meet up and do some fashion collab- or just simply a meet up.

That's what happened last week. We've been arranging time and place to make (my) personal-style video profile since last month, and thank God it was a lovely bright-sky day. We actually shoot this video at 8-ish in the morning. If you wonder, the place was actually an empty land on Serpong area. And the soil really ruin my Tardy boots, so we decided not to shoot the feet. And it was hot as hell to tell you the complete truth.

But all in all, we were so very excited that day.

Then until few days ago, Gadut finnaly published my video on YouTube. I'M FREAKIN FALLING IN LOVE, and seriously can't stop replaying! lol. Well, all credit to him and his friend of course.

Well to close up this post, you can play the video below. And lemme know what you guys think down on that little comment box!

Until next post, toodles-doodles!

Minority Minded

LOOK I'M NOT A FLUKE thin choker - O'MIGHTY crop top - MUIZZU SHOP pants - POLETTE sunnies - BERRYBENKA shoes - street market bag & watch ]

Now now,

I’ve been writing my thoughts on this blog since 2010. Unlike other so-called fashion bloggers- though as you guys who’ve been reading past posts knew that I don’t see myself as fashion blogger and prefer personal-style blogger, or just blogger instead, coz since the very beginning I treat this blog sort of like a diary. The reason? Well let’s just say I have so many things going on this big head of mine. And for the last 26 years, I found out that not so much people would listen to one thing called explanation. Or let’s just say I barely meet someone who like to listen as much as they like to tell/speak. Me, on the other hand, like to explicate things on my head. And I always expect an argument- that is in a good way of course.

Until I met, my blog. ;p Well I sort of like believe that someone somehow somewhere, reading every word, thought, and story I shared on this blog, while i just keep the argument on my head. Or if they don’t exist, well anyway at least i’ve let and say it out.

See? Just for an intro took me so many words already!

Anyway, I wonder if music plays a big part of your life as it does to me. I really can’t go a day without any song/music on my ears. True life story. Guess it started out with my dad and granddad who has huge love for Jazz and Keroncong musics, and also audio stuffs. None of them play any instruments, but ever since I was very little I remember dad played so many songs on his tape, and every time I was home from school, I directly put dad’s laser disk and played Morris Albert’s Feelings. I was just 4 years old. Ma' said I really love to sing Inka Christie ft Amy Search song, Cinta Kita, every-damn-day when I was 3 yo... Lol. Some of you might think it’s lame, the song, but I still love it till now.

Hey that pointed out why I always have a thing for sad and tragic love songs! Been this way since little me. :D

On my junior and high school days, well, you know, everybody loved pop musics. Been switching crushes between each member of Westlife and Nsync. Tho I still listen to Jazz and Blues, coz of my Dad. To name a few, I played these music on my Walkman: Eagles, Earth Wind and Fire, BeeGees, MLTR, Simply Red, Siti Nurhaliza, Sheila on 7, Shaden, Dewa19, Padi,  Backstreet Boys, 98Degrees, and the list goes on you don’t wanna know.

Yes, my genre is quite random. Since my brother learned bass and electric guitar, I heard a lot of metal blues, and rock music. Till I randomly went with Dad and my brother to see John Myung solo concert here. That very night, I fell in love with Metal music. I was starting to listen to Slipknot, Avenged Seven Fold (by the way I went to their concert here, it was A-owesome!), Dream Theatre of course, Bullet For My Valentine, but my fave is A7X and Slipknot.

Ok to make it even weirder, my musical soul, I learned Classical piano for 4 years. Didn’t turned out well, I can only read, but can’t really play outside the book. During that learning time I listened to lot of Classical music, even till now sometimes I played Tchaikovsky on YouTube. This early year I bought an Uke, but also never can really swing it. :(

Relapsing the time scene to present, and to cut to the chase, guess I’ve found my true soul in music, my love for Folks music. I don’t know where the hell I get to it if you read my A to Z list of fave music since i was little, but… yeah...

Putting a rank is unnecessary, so here are the list, in random, of my fave person, band, group, duo, gang, or just musics that I really really love which you HAVE TO, once more, HAAAAAAVE TO! search on YouTube/Soundscloud/anywhere you like:

  • Devendra Banhart (first timer I suggest you go for Baby, LISTEN HERE )

E.T. (Extra Temptation)

Ola people!

My oh my. I've gone missing for too long.

I really miss blogging and writing something.

So... this thought has been squandering in my head. People thought me, or just some other girls (or should I just say it anyway, bloggers) who'd wear unusual or rather weird clothes, are those who have deep thirst for attention, that we're 'trying' to get people to notice.

Well, actually, speaking on behalf of myself, it is just because it's rather tedious to wear something similar everyday. And the fact that I like love to play dress up, making it even more fun when I peruse my closet and pair things up every time I go out. But in the other page, I'm so much the person who walk the backdoor, work behind desk, and tilt my head down (most of the time) when I'm walking. A juxtaposition that is. And several other bloggers I know have similar personality like I do, even though some, are just more to the 'performer' kinda soul. You know, those who really enjoy always out front in the spotlight.

Anyway, I don't have a problem with people think of me as weird. I assume this based on their look, their facial expressions, and the way they slightly laugh when they've walked passed me. Some comments might also be loud enough for me to hear. Few are funny enough for me to laugh along the way, but few others might left my ears a little bit hot.

So why if I get easily drawn to what most people think as weird? So what if I like something different? The society tends to raise them eyebrows and ask WHY, while some rude ones laugh or mock at it. I have no idea why people here in my country can't just look away like other people in different countries. But either way, I've been learning my own way not to care, and we all should too. (anyway, I used to be so so insecure of myself when people stared at me)

I saw great sticker the other day, saying, 'Go ahead, under estimate me'. I suppose that's not only referring to some skills or abilities.

It's my temptation, I guess, all the unusual things.

All Rwhitey

Whoa I'm squishing in last minute entry post for TRESemmeID x GoGirl! Magazine #RoadToNewYork MBFA event!

So here in this post, I've been given the opportunity to make (my own) closet 'spin off' from a Spring/Summer 14 Runway style.

Rather than just being inspired by one rad designer, I'm one of those greedy inspo-sucking person who just spend hours gawking on runways' reviews.

Band Of Outsiders Spring 14 RTW

I'm currently an all white sucker, and actually took myself to be inspired a lot with some of my favo looks from Timo Weiland, Steve Alan, Thom Browne, and Band of Outsiders. They all have my fave traits for these all white trend get ups: mix fabrics, solid colour-blocks (well mostly monochrome), which when combine together, would give an out-of-ordinary bias-cut silhouettes.

I think an all-white outfit would give you a direct sporty chic kinda look, or a 'sport-prep casualness' as a call on review for Timo Weiland's Spring 14 RTW. So, if you're style is not actually involving sporty like mine, make a mix of your outfit just like I did with the black wide brim hat, chunky platforms, and, to make it as grunge as I am, a ripped white jeans.

I'd be exceptionally beyond happy if you'd drop just one LOVE of this outfit post on my Instagram, here here...

If you are too wanna win a trip to New York and watch the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Live, here're what you must do:

Hair Secret

[ Indian Bindis - LOOK I'M NOT A FLUKE Unicorn Choker - AAD Mesh white top -

Ola hermosas!

So as I promised you, I'm gonna share some thing or two about my hair.

My hair pretty much ruined due to last massive bleaching process. My hairstylist bleached them like 3 or 4 times, and it starting to falling off. Pretty bad. So, think this post might be useful for you guys who've been through what I've been through lately. Hair-wise.

Since the strong chemical ruined my hair, I decided to soak myself with a full knowledge of how to treat yourself (not only hair, which further on I'm going to write also) with organic treatments. Yes, the keys to highlight here are (by) yourself, and organic.

1. Shampooing Your Hair
First thing, I used to shampoo my hair every-day. I have an oily scalp and it just annoyed me so much if I didn't shampoo every single day. But since my hair get dried, or fried to be exact, due to those bleaching and dyeing process, I shampoo every two days now. But here's the first tips and what I do everyday: shampoo + conditioner on 1 day, and only conditioner on the next day, then repeat.
[I'm using TRESemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner]

Actually, the more your hair get wet, the more colour gone from your hair strands. So, if possible, you can prolong the processes of shampooing your hair. But I just can't stand it, not to wash the hair everyday. So, here's the second tips, put a small amount of your hair dye (mine's Manic Panic) into your shampoo. Best way is to purchase Silver Shampoo, but since it's pretty hard to find , so I use that trick instead.

2. Organic Hair Treatment
Then the treatment, I smear my hair with Extra Virgin Olive Oil every 2 weeks. Olive Oil is one of my fave organic ingredients for hair&body treatment. It's excellent for dandruff, frizzy hair, add shines, and soften your strands. You can read the benefits fully HERE. What I do is, put enough Olive Oil on a metal bowl and heat it on boiling water. Just like melting a chocolate bar when you're making cake. Leave it to get colder for couple of minutes, and just smear that warm oil on your hair with gentle hand strokes until it soaked wet with oil. I usually wrap my head with shower cap and leave them for 1 to 2 hours. The longer actually the better. But I just wash and shampoo my head after 2 hours top.
[I'm using Filippo Berio Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil]

Every once a month, I whisk one full egg and smear em on my hair. WARNING: this might leave your hair smells like omelet for 1 or 2 days! SECOND WARNING: if your hair's bleached and just as dry as mine, DO NOT leave the egg for more than 45 minutes. 30mins the best! It's because egg contains a lot of protein, and the more you leave your hair on egg mask, the more protein it will absorbs, and it will make your strands stiff as hell.

Ok, since I'm actually an organic-treatment sucker now, I do feel obliged to share this with you. :)
1. Lemon Face Mask
Buy a fresh lemon, put it on your cooler before using it. Cut it in the middle just like you wish to squish a juice out of it, and cut that half into half. So you have two circle cuts of lemons. Keep the whole half back on your cooler for next usage. Squish a bit with your thumb and index finger until the juice wet the whole surface, and smear your face with that. It might stings a bit, but you'll survive. Leave em on your face for 15 minutes and wash with water (warm of cold, your choice).

2. Egg White Face Mask
Separate the white and the yolk. Each will have different treatment to your skin. For acne and pore tightening treatment, use the white. As the yolk is more to moisturising and adding Vitamin A to your skin. I mostly use the white for pore tightening and anti-aging cleanser effects that smooths my skin (coz you know, I'm pretty old already. Turning 26 this very Saturday, so I need to treat my ageing process and do wrinkle prevention as soon as possible). I do this quite a lot, like 2 to 3 times a week with organic eggs (telur ayam kampung).

Well there're a whole lotta list for your organic hair&body treatments, but these what I do every week and is a GREAT GREAT GREAT investment of your time and (less) money. You do not need those expensive beauty and skin care shiznit. Just make a schedule and a stroll down the organic fruit and ingredients alley on the grocery store, you're all set.

Anyway, this is the outfit from the last day of INFARE III early June. I'm just so in love with the mesh top designed by my blogger fella Amelia Bunjamin for her label ApparelAfterDark.
