Hi and hellow!

I cannot believe, what a lousy blogger I am! One post per month?! I should get fired from blogging right now... *sigh*

Hmm, in spite my awful posting record, I'm so happy that I won an amazing Chictopia Reward from Chicwish  few weeks ago. And exactly last week a mail-man delivered it to my door. As I have expected before, the Riveted Leather Colar looks great, and right away I just had the idea of how I was gonna style it. Then on last weekend, I asked my boyfriend to drive me some place nice to take photos of my outfit that day, with the colar of course.

I bought the mustard top with leathery sleeves a month a go from a new friend of mine, Edi, who happen to be a stylist and the owner of Dorkas Boutique, but I never actually wore the top. Yet, good things sure do come to those who wait. :) My leathery sleeves top just met its perfect match: the leather colar. I brought my outfit that day onto the leathery theme as I added the big buckle leather belt and also my mary-jane leather heels. Oh, and as for the skirt, I actually tailored them myself. I found this 2 metres leftover-fabric on my stash and I thought I just gonna sew it into a little black skirt. It kinda has rumpled detail on the top of the skirt, but thanks to the belt, you could not see it. :p

Oh, one more happy thing. Two weeks ago, my company held a fashion show for two of its brands, and for that I had a chance to meet local bloggers for the first time! I have many blogger friends from across my country (which I looove to have more), but never actually be friend with local bloggers. :( I know, it's a shame on me. So I met with this two sweet and stylish girls, Mitha Komala of mithakomala and Mei Ying of girlwithplasticcamera. :) They are a lot younger than me, and they are super sweet in person! I'm really looking forward to meet them again, and perhaps meets other amazing local bloggers someday. :) Here's one photo of how fab and stylish they were at the event!

Doodle It Yourself: Make Your Own Peplum Effect!

Hey hello! :)

Just few days ago, I read on Chictopia Newsletter that Peplum is back on trend. Since I love anything vintage and girly, also since I haven't spend my money on clothes recently :p, it then kinda inspired me to experimented with (or recycled to be exact) my current closet. So I got this idea to create a peplum-effect dress that is actually layers of different pieces of clothing. I played with the patterns and colors to make it fun. I think this outfit looks like a cupcake somehow. :)

Well, the definition of peplum itself is a 'short flared, gathered, or pleated piece of fabric attached on the waist part of clothing to create a hanging frill as a decorative edging'. And according to Mr. Google, this Pep Trend started on the 40s, then 80s, and now in 2012 it back on style as it starting to appeared in Paris and Milan Fashion Week 2012, on pieces from magnifique designers such as Channel and YSL.


Kei, now for the DIY (doodle it yourself) part. But before we're going further, I need to tell in advance that this is not really a tutorial, but more like a tips. ;) Well, the key to create your own peplum-effect to your outfit is to use up different length of your clothing, and wear it on layers. You know, like Superman does. :p Here's the numbered tips to nailed the peplum-effect outfit:


1. Peplum usually attached on blouses, skirts, or dresses, and it has this mathematical formula of vertically slight+wide+slight. So, what you'll need is a pencil skirt/pants/short that to certain extent shape your body. This is necesarry in order to have the 'wide decorative edging' on peplum style.


2. As for the wide part, you'll need a long and rather loose top that covers your waist (or hips like in my outfit). A tailored-layered top like mine would be perfect, coz it creates wider peplum effect on your waist/hips.


3. For the upper layer, you will also need rather figure-hugging cropped top. But, it doesn't necessarily have to be tight-fitting to your body. The point is, it has to be tighter than your loose lengthy inner top. This cropped top should tighten your torso part of the outfit and thus creates a delicate pleats in between your cropped top and your loose inner top.


And there you go. You're wearing your own peplum trend. ;) Hope this inspiring your closet-recycling somehow!

 

Also, last Friday, me and Mr. boyfriend had our fifth year anniversary. ;p I bought us a cute custom-ordered cake, made by MoCa Precious, who's actually a sweet friend of mine, Gladys, and her talented Mommy. Since I love monkeys, I ordered them to make me a cute monkey couple cake. This is how cute it turned out!

Back When Disco Ruled The Night

Olá pessoas lindas!! (read: Hello gorgeous people!)

How's your mid week so far? Mine's just awesome! Although I started the week with several of what I called, 'unfortunate events'. Yes, plural. On Monday my car key was nowhere to be found and therefore I was late for work. At office I just cannot focus to my work, as I have tons of photos to be edited and spell checking to be done by that afternoon. But, with the hope that tomorrow God will make everything better, the next days turned out to be better indeed. :) 

Just last night after I ate my dinner and rested my body on the bed, I watched this best movie for the second time about chasing your dream job. Perhaps you've heard of it, a movie titled 'Morning Glory' with Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton. Well, the point of that movie is that there's always be a 'prize' between doing your best, never stop hoping, believing yourself, and never give up. :) You guys should watch it if you have spare time. I guess it's good for your spirit of working and chasing your dream. Yet, footnote to be noted, for me grateful and humility are the next things you should work on after. ;)

Kei, now for the outfit photos, I wore those pieces for my company's video shoot, for one of their new footwear brand. I was  one of the models for the video, and I did the styling for other models as well. :) You can see on the photo below that I used different shoes with different background, and hair. :p Both the top and the funky leggings are from local brand called Only I. When I first saw them on the hanging rack, I instantly thought of my all time fave disco-dance movie on the 70s: Flashdance, which I thought very peculiar with its neon colors tights, boots, and also funky oversized neon top. 

It's such a rare occasion that I wore such total eclectic outfit, but I just fell for the colorful details on the tights and on the chest. I think they're kinda girly in somehow, someway. ;p You know, I've always been a quirky-girly girl, and I think those details kinda meets both of my quirkiness and my girly-ness. :) What do you think?

Oh, last but not least, last month I've been helping a sweet new friend, Lue, to design her blog layout and header. She's pretty new in blog sphere, and her blog is about beauty and make up tutorial. Rusty Wall and Bow Tie

Ola lovelies!

Today is Valentine's Day already!! So Happy Val Day ya'll!!! *virtual hugs and smooches* :D

Well, today I'm not very busy so I'm posting from my office. Last week I found out that my company does allow us, the employees, to wear any types of outfit including shorts. When I knew that, I think I heard an angel singing, "Haaaaalelluya!".  Lol. So the next day, as you bet, I wore a short. And the next day, and the day after. :p And I wore this outfit on today's post on last Friday. I didn't bring my camera to my office, so I was planning to take photos at it on weekend and share it on this blog day after. And since me and my boyfriend were headed to my parents house last weekend, so I think it'd be great to hunt some new places for my outfit photo. I've been looking for a rusty wall as my background the whole time, until... I finally found one near the spot I used to take photos! The weather spoiled the paint naturally, coz the last time I came, it's a perfect green wall (which was kinda boring). Guess good things really do come for those who wait, right? :)

So, how's your Valentine's treatment from your loved ones? My bf is not the romantic type (ps: he didn't even say 'happy Valentine's Day sweetheart' to me!). But I don't really sweat that. I know him for almost five years, and he being romantic is such a rare occasion. :p

Back to my so-far-faved rusty wall and the outfit photos. If you haven't notice before, I didn't hold a timer remote as I usually do on this outfit photos. It's because my bf took all the photographs! Yay! He finally agree and willing to learn to take my outfit photos. And he did well. :D *greening* (That's why I forgive him for not being romantic today :p).

Embracing the Seasons Chage

Ola!
These days are just getting hotter and hotter, aren't they? It's' nice to have the warm wheater again, even though there's not much difference between each seasons here in my country- coz I think we have only one season: sizzling! :p

I wore this outfit when I went out last weekend. The Sun hit quite severely on the skin, so instead of going out with sweater like I mostly did last few days, I pulled up a pleated short-skirt with a lil cute dress with a heart shape accent on the bust. I kinda missed the short summer skirts and the adorable feeling its brought (oh, here I am, drama queen!) ;p And yes, there’s more than meets the eye on my outfit. It’s my all time fave 2 in 1: short at the back, skirt at the front. It’s cozy and breezy. I skipped wearing rings and necklaces, so I wore my handmade garlands as belt and added soft plum color socks- which was also really breezy.

Anyway, since my current job requires me to write for social medias, esp for my company's blog and site, I found this extremely useful site that I wanted to share with you guys. Since we are all running a blog, either for ourselves or for others like me, the knowledge of Content Marketing is really- I should repeat once more- really useful!! I read it from IFB and now it's become my obligation to share it on. You know, just in case you missed the article. We're all certainly wants for our blog to expand and reach more visitors also followers, aren't we? IFB also has an article of ways to make it to a higher level of blogging, such as link back our fellow bloggers and also innovate some one-of-a-kind post series. Realy a spoonful food for thought!

I'm still considered as a 'kid' in blogging. Lots of works to do really. Sometime, I thought since most of us makes blogging as a part time side job, we- well, actually I am, sometimes has this lack of consistency and commitment for our blog to expand. Read the link I shared to you, and you'll know what I meant. It's such an eyes opening and sure do makes me even more eager to expand my blog! ;) I've set out some goals for this blog and it'll involving you, my precious readers, with also involving some habits change. But after all, I think we all should embracing the changes in the most tres chic way like changing our closet for the new season, right?

Starry Night After Pouring Day

Hi gorgeous people!!

Today I'm posting from my new office. Yes, I'm back on full-timing, and this time, as you previously read, has finally enter the fashion field! Yay! Everyday is an excitement here with other 'Fashion People' (so they called themselves and their colleagues). :) Oh, I haven't mention you about my position. I'm now working as a Fashion Editor at one of the noted fashion retail in my country. So practically, what I do is just like blogging: I write- a lot. Well, just wish me luck you guys! :)

Now now, I love the black knitted sequins sweater from Promod that I wore on this outfit post. It's so warm in windy days such nowadays, and also still breezy when the sun's getting hot coz it's not tightly knitted. Plus, I love it coz it looks like a starry night sky on my body. ;p  To paired with that, I think the skirt change the eclectic look of the sequin sweater into a romantic look- hence, I decided to bring burnt orange flowers instead of bag. :p

It was pouring before I came to the place where I took the photos, and I just loooove to shoot the road after raining. Wet road and slightly fogged trees as a background are my fave!

The Band and The Patched Knees

Hi all beautiful people!!

How's your mid week? I really envy you guys who still breathing on the cold winter air.. Here in my country, all we have is just hot, super hot, and rainy. Nowadays the rain falls really hard for almost everyday. Seems like Bruno Mars was right, 'everyday it will rain' here.. :) This month actually predicted to have the 4-years-seasonal big flood in several cities near my capital. I just hope it doesn't happen.
 
Kei, now it's official. I'm going to start my new job on next Monday. It's a challenge I can say, coz my position is new to the company itself. But I'm really excited tho'. So wish me luck, guys! ;)

Last night, I watched Sex and The City 2 for the third times. This time I'm really interested on how life might be on a 30-ish girl (or women I should say). Well, thank God I'm still far from that number. :p But, I've once read a novel of such story about life and love at the age of 20 something, which is quite suits my current age. I am myself actually don't believe in young-marriage (below 27 yo). It's a good thing God give me mr.boyfriend who has the same age as I am. :p Even so, seeing many of my high school and college friends now already being married, and even some of them already have a child, it somehow gets me thinking about marriage itself. Moreover, some of us here in Asia will most likely to hear the parents asking us to be married as soon as possible, esp before a girl turn 25. Parents use to suggest that under 25 a girl is in the best (they mean pretty face and good skins) and productive (strong and fertile to bare child) state, and therefore it's best to be married at that age. So I've heard from my friends that their old-school parents even thinks that after 25 you'll get ugly and no man will marry you. Some more 'logical' parents giving us reasons to be married soon because of the fertility and the sake of the children. It then gets me thinking, should I be married soon before I turn old? Hm, I guess the novel was somehow right about money and marriage as the two things that circling around the head of 20 something girl.

But to think again further, the major thing at the age of 20 something is not really about those two, it's all about 'decision'. A decision, which often left on a short time for us to decide. A decision whether we should married or should we wait. A decision to take one job or another for our future. A decision whether we should quit dreaming or go for it. All in all is that we have one side to lose.

Now now, I'm getting so boring, don't I? Soo, back again for the outfit details. I wore my own handmade turbands, which is a new fall-winter color. Today's outfit was inspired by my boyfriend band-tees collection. I got the crazy comfortable patched leggings on last shopping spree and thought would be great to pair it with one of his tees. But apparently he doesn't have a tees long enough to cover my hips. So I bought the Pink Floyd tees on the store where he usually shop for the tees. Then, I couldn't get all boyish tho. You know me. There's always some girly things I should wear. ;) So I put on my sequins flats to complete the easy and comfortable look.
